How this report is built
- Source. NAVs come from AMFI's official daily NAV file — the same numbers every fund house publishes. 8,520 plans priced on 11 August 2026.
- One-day change. Each plan is compared with its own previous NAV from the last five days. A plan with no NAV in that window shows no change rather than a misleading one.
- Categories. Plans are grouped by SEBI category (both the original and the revised AMFI names), with index funds split into equity and debt trackers by name.
- Exclusions. IDCW (dividend) plans are left out of averages and lists, because a payout lowers the NAV without being a loss.
- Not advice. This is a record of what happened in one session. A fund's one-day move says almost nothing about whether it suits you.
Frequently asked questions
Which mutual fund category performed best on 11 August 2026?
Gold & Silver funds were the strongest category, averaging +0.96% across 130 plans. Large Cap was the weakest at −0.35%.
How many mutual fund schemes rose on 11 August 2026?
566 of 1,964 equity plans rose and 1,362 fell. Across all 3,960 comparable plans — including debt and liquid funds, which accrue interest almost every day — 1,493 rose and 2,330 fell. IDCW (dividend) plans are excluded because a payout lowers the NAV without being a loss.
Which mutual fund gained the most on 11 August 2026?
DSP World Gold Mining Overseas Equity Omni FoF - Direct Plan - Growth (International) rose +1.64%, the largest one-day gain among open-ended direct plans.
Which sector funds did best on 11 August 2026?
Healthcare & Pharma funds led sector and thematic schemes, averaging +0.67% across 17 schemes.
When is mutual fund NAV updated?
Fund houses publish NAVs through AMFI every business day, by 11 PM IST. Some overseas fund-of-funds publish a day later. This report is rebuilt from AMFI's NAV file each evening once it updates.
Why did my fund's NAV fall when the market rose?
Common reasons: the fund holds a different mix of stocks than the index; it is an IDCW plan and the NAV dropped by the payout on the record date; or it is a debt fund reacting to bond yields rather than the stock market.
What is the difference between direct and regular plans?
Both hold exactly the same portfolio. A regular plan pays a distributor commission out of a higher expense ratio, so its NAV grows slightly slower. Lists on this page use direct plans, one row per scheme.
